『鐘馗』
鍾馗及第の。鍾馗及第のみぎんにて。我と亡ぜし悪心の。
ひるがへす一念発起菩提心なるべし。
げに真ある誓ひとて。国土を静めわきてげに。
禁裏雲居の楼閣の。ここやかしこに遍満し。あるいは玉殿。
廊下の下。御階のもとまでも。御階のもとまでも。
剣をひそめて忍び忍びに。
もとむれば案の如く。鬼神は通力失せ。あらはれ出づれば忽ちに。
ずだずだに切りはなして。まのあたりなる其勢唯此剣の威光となって。
天にかかやき地にあまねく。
治まる国土となる事。治まる国土となる事も。
げに有難き誓ひかな。げに有難き誓ひかな。
“Shoki”
With such an honor that I was granted a pass on the higher civil service examinations I had actually failed, I repented for my sins at the time when I had killed myself, and thus turned my mind into a bodhi vow.
That is indeed so.
Shoki’s bodhi power has calmed the land.

Finally, hiding his sword under the sleeves, he approached evil spirits.
Then, as anticipated, they lost their evil power and showed themselves.
He immediately hacked them to pieces.
Then, the majesty of his divine sword echoed across the land, thereby bringing about peace.
What a grateful vow Shoki had made !
